Dawn Shilling

Client Care Specialist

Early Years

Dawn grew up in Baltimore and graduated from Loch Raven High School, where she was a regular at the school's football games. Not only because she liked boys (we can relate!) she has actually "been in love with football since age five." (We're dying to hear the full story behind that!)

What we know about Dawn

She's in it for the game.

Fast-forward a few years and you'd find Dawn supplementing her football passion with a new love - three baby boys. Makes you just want to pick up a lacrosse stick, strap on the shoulder pads, and run with it, doesn't it?

Well, that's what she did. And after cradling those boys as a stay at home mom (title: "Family Management Specialist"), she watched them cradle lax sticks straight through college. She even worked at Lax World Headquarters for six years, gaining plenty of customer/client care experience. Then a full-time career came knocking. Dawn became a health insurance service rep and gained a Health and Life license before coming to EBS.

Fun Facts

I am the perfect Ying and Yang: During my years at home with the boys, I added a love for cooking to my passions and even had a small catering company.

My kids really dug that! The boys would say my specialties are Italian or Mexican cuisine and homemade soups.

Thank goodness for little girls: My only girl is a 10 year-old rescue pup (Lab mix)

Did I mention I am a big fan? A favorite "hobby" is watching my boys play sports (especially lacrosse) and I love going to Ravens games with family and friends.

Beth Appel

Client Care Specialist

Early Years

An eastern shore native, Beth graduated from Severna Park High School. She then graced the locals by choosing to attend Towson University. Her husband, BJ, was pretty happy about that, too. They met through mutual friends while both were TU students. After years living the sunny life in different states -- she in San Diego and he in West Palm Beach -- the two got hitched and decided to move back home to crab town.

What we know about Beth

She performs somersaults for her clients.

Beth started her career as a Gym Director for a gymnastics facility. She then cartwheeled straight into the insurance biz as a customer service rep at KELLY, where she quickly moved up the latter to become a customer service team leader and trainer before having her first child.

Fun Facts

She's got great taste in past times. I spend my free time playing with my one-year-old daughter, Blakely, or watching Netflix.

She puts her money where her mouth is. I love a good brewery tour, wine tasting, and going out to dinner around Baltimore. I also like to I like to bake!

She walks the walk. I hiked the Grand Canyon rim to river and back in 2010 with a friend.

Debbie Xairavong

Client Care Specialist

Early Years

Debbie grew up in Hacienda Heights, California but moved around a lot. In fact, she was never at the same school for more than 3 years. Her family finally landed in Towson, Maryland where she aced all four years at Towson High -- scoring at least a 3.9 GPA. She also held various memberships in Baltimore County choirs, musicals, and clubs. Still, her love of beaches and California weather has never died.

What we know about Debbie

She's made serving clients a science.

Debbie holds a Biology/Pre-Med degree from the University of Maryland. Baltimore County. Her intention was to become a pediatrician. But as fate would have it, she "somehow, landed a job with Group Benefit Services." Before joining EBS as a Client Care Specialist, she spent 13 years with Group Benefit Services as an account admin then assistant manager.

Fun Facts

Nothing beats a good sweat. I work out and exercise as much as I can and I love yoga.

Unless it's great food. I also love to cook and eat! Major foodie, here.

Music rocks! I love all music, too! From classical to rock and pop -- you name it!

She's a fierce competitor. I'm super-competitive and strive for the best. Life is precious and short -- the sky is the limit!

Mom's the word. I spend as much time as I can with my six-year-old, who is my world and my heart.

Kelli Argo

Client Care Specialist

Early Years:

Born in Maryland, Kelli is the oldest of three sisters. Always one to stay active, this kid sashayed her way into dance class at age five and kept dancing for 10 years! Kelli also played high school softball and, later, actively sought out adventure by studying abroad in Spain for three wonderful months while a student at the University of Delaware.

What we know about Kelli

After college, Kelli embarked on a career as a reporter for a weekly paper in Dover, Delaware. It took her just three years to realize the small salary wasn't going to cut it forever. After bartending to pay off debts, she ditched the booze and became dazzled by the world of insurance. "For seven years, I worked for State Farm and, as cheesy as it sounds, I really became that good neighbor my clients could count on."

After working as a benefits advisor and training specialist for KELLY, she joined EBS in early 2017. "For the first time ever, I feel like I've found my forever work home. I look forward to servicing our clients and helping our team grow the business for years to come." Aw, shucks. We feel the same way!

Fun Facts

Good Fake! One night, I asked this guy Eric to be my pretend boyfriend to keep a creepy older gentleman from hitting on me at a bar. It became pretty obvious he wasn't actually my boyfriend when we later exchanged numbers! No matter. The pretend boyfriend is now my husband!

Ok . . . Another Good Fake! I have a tiny tattoo on my foot, but my decision to get one was far from spontaneous. I wore a fake tattoo for a week to make sure I liked it first.

Getting Real. I am obsessed with being a mom. I never knew I could love a person so much. Madison "Maddie" has my heart! Eric - don't be jealous!

Just No. I am far from a picky eater but strongly dislike peas. They are gross.
